WELCOME TO GANGWAY MINIATURE SCHNAUZERS!

Gangway Miniature Schnauzers is the breeding program of Bill Brown, Houston, Texas. We have been involved in breeding and showing Miniature Schnauzers, in various ways, since 1958. Our objective is to breed Miniature Schnauzers of uncompromising quality, as measured by our breed standard. Our recent record for uniformity of quality and success in the show-ring is unsurpassed in the breed. The program is also very limited in size. Consequently, we very rarely have pet puppies available. We do occasionally have available young adult dogs that have finished their show careers and/or females that have finished their breeding careers. 2009 promises to be another banner year at Gangway! Two new homebreds have already completed their championships and a number of others are close. Along the way this spring, this new batch picked up 8 majors, including 4 coveted five-pointers, 13 bests-of-breed, and five group placements. Included in this group is Ch. Gangway Murphy's Paradox, who is currently the #4 ranked Miniature Schnauzer. This recent success comes on top of five new champions in 2006 and three in 2007 and brings the total for Gangway to 22 homebred champions, 20 of which have finished in the last 8 years. Notably, all were breeder and/or owner handled to their championships. As a consequence, at least three Gangway homebreds have been invited to the AKC/Eukanuba invitational show each of the past several years. Additional details about these recent Gangway champions are available by clicking on the news button to access the news section.

When you consider the number of puppies whelped here in Houston you discover that almost all have completed their championships. This is not entirely surprising, since Gangway's matriarch, Ch. Ruedesheim's Gangway Annie was the dam of three all-champion litters: 9 puppies and 9 champions. This is a breed record for all offspring completing their championships. One of these champions was Ch. Gangway's Corner-stone Survivor, who is the youngest AKC champion ever, completing his championship in one weekend with three 5 point majors at the age of 6 months and 4 days of age. And her daughter, Ch. Gangway's Final Feature, now has 10 champion offspring with more on the way and seems destined to be one of the top producing bitches of all time. Additional details and photos of the older Gangway champions can be accessed by clicking the gallery button.

Prior to starting Gangway, Bill Brown was involved in his family's Miniature Schnauzer breeding program at Kansho Kennels in the 60's. And amazingly, there is a direct genealogical link between the Kansho dogs and the more recent Gangway champions. Additional details and photos from this bygone era can be accessed by clicking the Kansho button.
